Roots first

Our roots begin at origin.

With co-founders from origin, direct trade isn't a slogan. Our Roots are relationships built to last—connecting buyers with coffees and the people and places behind them.

Our approach

Relationships grow in different ways.

Every coffee has a role, and every producer relationship has its own depth. We make both clear.

  • Black ink botanical illustration of a coffee plant and its root system

    Grow together

    Roots

Farmers we work alongside beyond the purchase—from processing decisions to plans built across harvests.

  • Black ink botanical illustration of a coffee branch with leaves

    Source with purpose

    Branch

Dependable, program-fit coffees for recurring needs, with the producer relationship stated honestly.

  • Black ink botanical illustration of coffee blossoms

    Discover and develop

    Bloom

Expressive and limited discoveries from producers we may know, be getting to know, or hope to meet.

Branch and Bloom leave room for relationships to develop. Over time, sustained collaboration may grow into Roots.

The Dynamic Green story

Built from relationships that cross borders.

Dynamic Green grew from relationships already connecting producers, coffee professionals, and buyers—and from a belief that those relationships deserve capable, transparent follow-through.

  • Three Q Graders and CVA instruction
  • National and world competition
  • Origin, roasting and green buying
  • Technology-enabled operations

Andrew Delgado was born in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, with coffee in his family. After studying audio, he found his way back through exporting, farm-development work in India, competition, and education. Today he is a Q Grader and CVA instructor, the 2025 Honduran national Brewers champion, a 2026 World Brewers competitor, and the operating link across Dynamic's cafés, roasting, and green coffee.

Paulo Melendez and Stephanie Gonzalez bring the perspective of Guatemala and careers built across quality, roasting, production, and competition. Paulo grew up in Acatenango in a coffee family, is a Q Grader, a two-time Guatemalan Barista Champion and World Barista competitor, and now leads roasting at Convive. Steph is a Q Grader, national competition judge, and Production Manager and part owner of De Fer Coffee & Tea.

Before Dynamic Green, members of the team were already introducing Pittsburgh coffee professionals to producers through origin travel and visits to the city. Those connections showed what was possible—and how much reliable communication, payment, logistics, and follow-through matter. Dynamic Green was created to take responsibility for that work closer to the relationships themselves and to help the local coffee community buy with greater confidence.

Dylan came from physics and manufacturing operations, where he used technology to automate data work and give managers better information so they could spend more time leading people. He brings that systems experience to green buyers who often carry many responsibilities. Together, the team combines producer relationships and coffee judgment with the operational discipline needed to make sourcing more useful.

How buying works

We help you buy what fits—not simply what we have.

  1. Tell us how you buy

Share the coffees you use year over year, what is changing, and what your program needs next.

  2. Find the right fit

We evaluate producer relationships, available coffees, timing, quality, volume, and price against the role you need filled.

  3. Build shared leverage

When local demand overlaps, we can coordinate volume and freight while each roaster buys for its own program.

  4. Move coffee with context

Dynamic coordinates the selected coffee and states its sourcing relationship clearly—Roots, Branch, or Bloom.

Sometimes the right fit deepens a Roots relationship. Other times it means finding a useful coffee through Branch or Bloom. Both help Pittsburgh's coffee community source with better information and stronger collective buying power.

Inquiry and contact

Tell us how you buy coffee.

What do you buy year over year, when do you buy it, and what profiles, origins, volumes, and price ranges keep your program moving? A Roots coffee may fit. If it does not, we can look for what does—and shared local demand may create better access or freight than buying alone.

Want to know the people behind a coffee? We can explore a producer conversation, including a video call when that serves everyone better than travel, so more of the budget can support the coffee itself.
